Quarter 3, Week 2 – Bias and Prejudice

This week we discussed about Bias and Prejudice. We join the meeting with duhat so our teacher can explain our topic more clear. We have our Spelling bee or Spelling Quiz, we learned the meaning of some words and its spelling like; awful, mirage, meerkat, asylum, etc. We also have our Anglo- American Literature Icon Nicholas Charles Sparks. I know not everyone knows who he is, Nicholas Charles Sparks is an American novelist, screenwriter, and a philanthropist.
Mr.Nicholas have published 22 novels and a 2 non-fiction books, that have been in a New York Time's Best sellers. Some of Mr.Nicholas books are A walk to remember, Dear John, The last song, message in a Bot, The notebook, etc. Before we start our discussion our teacher present a video where we observe the emotions of mothers and the children there, which is connected to the topic were going to start. We have some questions answered by our classmates. The topic is quite easy because only by reading and understanding the sentences we can figure it out whether it's a Bias or a Prejudice. What is the differences between the Bias and Prejudice, Bias means a tendency to favor one person, group, thing, or point of view over another, often in an unfair way, While Prejudice is an unfavorable opinion or feeling formed beforehand or without knowledge, thought, or a reason. Prejudice in a simple explanation means to prejudged others before really knowing them.
We also have our new Figure of Speech in Focus which is Anaphora. What is Anaphora? It is a figure of speech showing repetition of words or phrases in a group of sentences, clauses, or a poetic lines. In this week the activity is pretty okay it's not that hard, especially when you get what the differences and the purpose of differenciating them.
Explanation: For what I understood to our topic the word bias is like having your favorite and being ufair that's why I draw it at the left and the other side is showing prejudice, for me it is our pre-judgement or by simply juging someone who we didn't know.
